We have plenty of nearby attractions that you and your family can check out while you’re here! Here are a few of our recommendations.

Olustee Battlefield

Olustee Battlefield State Historic Site is located on U.S. 90, 15 miles east of Lake City, Florida. Or you can get to the battlefield by going East on I-10 to exit 324. During most of the year free parking is available right inside the entrance. However, during the annual reenactment parking spaces are harder to come by. If you intend to visit the Historic Site during the reenactment read the advice on parking in The Authentic Spectator. Santa Fe River Canoe Outpost

Canoe in the most beautiful part of Florida, the Santa Fe Canoe Outpost offers a wide variety of paddling excursions on the Santa Fe, Ichetucknee, and Suwannee Rivers. As you float lazily downstream, you will experience river banks filled with pines, cypress, oaks, and other hardwoods. An abundance of wildlife can be sighted year round, including several species of turtles, birds and fish. In addition, on special occasions, beaver, otter, deer, wild boar, and, of course, our old friend the alligator. Ginnie Springs

Enjoy seven crystal-clear, freshwater springs nestled in over 200 wooded acres along the banks of the Santa Fe River. Cavern & cave diving, canoeing, scuba diving & swimming. No pets allowed. It is open everyday of the year. The water in the springs is 72 degrees year round. Webb’s Antique Mall

Hours: 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. 7 days a week
Founded in 1995, this large 50,000 square foot antique mall has been a long time “stop over” for many people traveling north and south on I-75. Many regulars frequent the mall for the bargains that come in. Conveniently located and open 7 days a week, it is a wonderful place to spend a few hours or even a day. Wild Adventures Theme Park

Choose from 59 rides, 17 shows, 26 concerts & events, and from 84 animals. This is a huge park that is famous for no lines because they have so much at this location. It is only 45 minutes from our campground and a popular destination spot and a great place to take the kids. They have a water park for a good cool down.

                                                   

Skunkie Acres – Petting Zoo & Horseback Riding

ZOO- Skunkie Acres educates Children and Adults about animals here in the State of Florida and also animals from around the world. The zoo is Free to the Public and is run entirely on donations. They also have an Exotic Petting Farm complete with African tortoises, Miniature Brahma, Pygmy Goats, Llama , Chinese Deer, and more.

HORSES- The Riding Stables were founded as a means to help support thier Animal Rescue and monies received from this goes directly to the animals. They have 1 and 2 hour wooded Guided Horseback trails. The 2 hour trail goes down by the lake and also on the banks of the Suwannee River. You will see Florida Wildlife such as deer, tortosies, turkeys, and much more on many of our trails. They have available riding lessons for Children and Adults. They are open 7 days a week from 10 a.m. to Dusk.
